One Church under One Lord

The local churches of Port Macquarie share a common vision of unity as one Church, one Body of Christ, with one purpose in representing the message and person of Jesus Christ to our city.

We recognise that there is wonderful diversity and freedom of expressions of the Christian faith, while also maintaining that there is “one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all” (Ephesians 4:4-6, The Message). We choose to compliment each other, and to cooperate rather than compete, to see the Good News of Jesus proclaimed across our great city.  The truth of Jesus’ message and His amazing love permeates all different expressions, traditions, and styles of church life.  So we celebrate the diversity of each and every church while recognising the centrality of Jesus as our common foundation.

Whether you are visiting Port Macquarie or have made this city your home, we invite you to check out the local churches and find a church family that best fits who you are.

CityServe Port Macquarie

The Church loving Port Macquarie in Jesus’ name

A Summary and Response following the CityServe working bee at Tacking Point Public School on September 9, 2023 (8am – 1pm).

First of all a big thank you to everyone who contributed.  Your efforts were put to good use and we achieved everything on our list and more.  The standard of work was high and the School is very grateful. The fellowship was uplifting as everyone worked and ate together.

50 Adults came and served plus numerous children.

8 Churches were represented. The work was done over Saturday and Sunday.

The Principal and Staff were amazed at how much was achieved in such a short time.

About CityServe

CityServe logo

CityServe began in the Newcastle region as a movement to mobilise volunteers from among the churches to work together in partnership with local Councils and businesses for the benefit of the community. Since it began in 2013, projects under the CityServe banner have taken place in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Shellharbour, Wollongong and Port Macquarie.

Previous CityServe Events in Port Macquarie

Over the last several years in Port Macquarie, CityServe has held working bees at Hastings Primary School, Westport Primary School, and Port Macquarie Primary School as well as the Westport Campus of Hasting Secondary College. These working bees have mobilised over 120 local church volunteers to see the school grounds transformed, with handrails and walls painted, gardens weeded and mulched, trees and bushes pruned and more.

“It was a fantastic morning. On returning after the holidays, many students, parents and staff were presented with a much-improved school and lots of discussion over how this happened. It was a great opportunity to highlight how local Churches serve their local community. The staff were really impressed, and the P and C took a lot of notice of how great it looked, especially with the gardens.”
